Jaggery Single Release

In Mali's words:  Join your favourite torture chamber pop ensemble Jaggery to celebrate the release of a 2-song "double" sneak-peek-preview CD, featuring 1 track from their forthcoming album + 1 track from their even-more-forthcoming EP

the CD will be available FREE w/ purchase of any other Jaggery merch ~ including the fruits of the band's recent collaboration w/The Glorious Matorious of Matorious Designs

WHERE: The Lizard Lounge (on Mass ave, between Harvard and Porter, underneath Cambridge Common)

Other than the awesome music, the low ceilings, and old-jazz-club feel, there are four words that should get you to this show–COCKTAILS IN PINT GLASSES.

Also, The Lizard Lounge is one of only two bars in Boston that will make my official cocktail...the Bombenqueray and Tonic (exactly what it sounds like, a delicious blend of Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray, tonic, and extra lime). All in a pint glass, for $7.

That totally makes it worth the walk from the Harvard T stop

WHEN: This Wednesday, May 19. The show begins at 8:30pm and Jaggery is on at 10pm or maybe a little later.

HOW MUCH: $8 in advance from here, or $10 at the door.

WHO'S IN THE BAND TONIGHT: This is a rare FULL BAND show! Singer Mali (vocals, piano), Tony (upright bass), Petaluma (harp), Daniel (drums), and me on viola.

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING: The phenomenal Mary Bichner will be performing as Box Five, and singer songwriter Rachel Smith will open the night.

WHY SHOULD I COME TO THIS ONE: You're still not doing anything else on a Wednesday night. Plus we'll be playing lots of songs that we can only do with the full band.

measa: shoe

I often look like shoes.

This was an outfit from a couple months ago that i never got around to taking pictures of. The shoe is from an amazing Brittish comany called Carreducker that specializes in bespoke shoemaking.

cool. my wood floors even match the sole of the shoe.

Jaggery show wednesday at Bloc 11

WHERE: Bloc 11 Cafe in Union Square. 11 Bow Street, Somerville MA.

If you haven't been to Bloc for a show, make a point of it.
It's a cozy, pleasant space.
Brick walls, lit tea light candles on the tables.
There is a small stage and PA set up for the shows, which take place in the back half of the cafe, leaving the front open for those who wish to chat and not partake in the entertainment. This could very well become the Somervillle equivalent to Salem's Gulu Gulu Cafe. Now...if only they could get a liquor license....

WHEN: This Wednesday, May 12. The show begins at 6:30pm and Jaggery is on at 8pm.

HOW MUCH: Free! ...though I highly recommend you buy a tiny mocha and tip your barista...

WHO'S IN THE BAND TONIGHT: Singer Mali (vocals, piano, whistling virtuoso) , and me on viola

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING: GEM CLUB, one of our favorite Boston Bands is on from 7pm-8pm. It's Christopher Barns (piano, vocals) and Kristen Drymala (Cello, voice). Slant of Light opens the night from 6:30pm-7pm.

WHY SHOULD I COME TO THIS ONE: Let's be real. You're not doing anything else on a Wednesday night.

It's a great opportunity to catch an evening of music for free while enjoying some kick-ass espresso and pastries. Also, no night of duets would be complete without a few unusual covers. This will be a rare chance to hear the four of us (mali, christopher, kristen, rachel) as the art-rock supergroup, GEMery.
